Sarah Silverman's getting two new friends for her NBC pilot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Lost" star Ken Leung and comedian Tig Notaro will appear alongside Silverman in the comedy project loosely based on Silverman's life.

Leung, who played Miles on "Lost," will play Gene, a tenant in Silverman's building who spends most of his time with a blanket in front of his TV. Since the end of "Lost" in 2010, Leung made a guest appearance on "The Good Wife."

Notaro, who appeared on Silverman's Comedy Central series, "The Sarah Silverman Program," will play a mother and fellow tenant in Silverman's character's apartment building. Notaro's character is described as an eccentric woman.

The show follows Silverman's character as she adjusts to life as a newly single woman after ending a committed, decade-long relationship. Silverman co-wrote the project with fellow "Sarah Silverman Program" veterans Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder.

According to TVLine, the pilot cast also includes Harris Wittels and June Diane Raphael.

This show was dropped in the last few days. The story was that the test audience couldn't stand Tig Notaro and wanted her fired but Silverman insisted Notaro be cast. I'm pretty sure Notaro is her lover. Notaro is bad news but I guess love is blind.

I have such a crush on Silverman! She is one of the edgiest comics ever. But I have a hard time seeing her in a network sitcom now. I certainly hope the writers of 'Whitney' stay far, far away...

I like Sarah Silverman. But I really hope they don't make the mistake of filming in the two-camera format. That would kill her humor.

When I first learned of Sarah Silverman, I thought that her act looked gross, but I gained respect for her after she did the Great Schlep.

Sarah is wonderfully inappropriate.  But the marriage to NBC remains to be seen.  Then again, Bob Saget was able to tone it down for ABC, so we'll see...

Sarah is a funny lady. But Tig Notaro is one of the least funny people I have ever had the displeasure of seeing live. Ugh. Terrible. She's one of those mediocre hanger-ons that got lucking by making the right friends in the alt comedy scene, then hung around long enough with them to get some gigs as her buds got popular. I will never watch another show with Tig Notaro, I don't care who writes/stars in/directs it.

I love Sarah, and hate TV. But for her I'll make an exception.

Agree on all counts but I'm worried that unlike Comedy Central NBC will make her tone down her edgy humor and turn her into yet another dumb sitcom. Hope I'm wrong.

I love Sarah. She's funny and beautiful. Her Comedy Central show didn't get the best of ratings, she feels because of lack of promotion. Ten years ago, I'd say going from a cancelation on Comedy Central to a network show on NBC was failing up. Now, I'm not so sure if its not a brief stop on a downward spiral. I hope it works for her and NBC. If not, there's always TBS.

AWSOME!! Sarah Silverman is one of the best female comedian's today, always irreverent and hysterical. Between Whitney, Are You There Chelsea?, and now this the women of Comedy seem to be taking NBC in a whole new direction in terms of sitcoms!!

Excellent post! I agree with you 100%!! I wish Whitney's other show (that she co-created and writes for on CBS), 2 Broke Girls, was on NBC and on the same night as the shows you mentioned.....what a Wednesday night line up that would be!! Sarah makes an awesome addition!
