Brandon Jacobs On Super Bowl Win Over Patriots: 'We Decapitated Them' (VIDEO)

Brandon Jacobs
Brandon Jacobs had an interesting reaction to the Giants Super Bowl victory.

It should not come as too much of a surprise that outspoken Giants running back Brandon Jacobs had the most surly reaction on the victorious side of Super Bowl XLVI. After all, this is the same guy who went out of his way to call Jets coach Rex Ryan a "disrespectful bastard" after the Giants won the so-called "Battle of New York" during the regular season.

Shortly after the clock hit zero, as Giants players were celebrating with their families, ESPN's Rachel Nichols caught up with Jacobs, who had just scooped up his two young sons. Asked how it feels to have topped the Patriots in the Super Bowl twice, Jacobs offered a dark answer in a tone that was hardly celebratory.

"We decapitated them," Jacobs said. "They can't wear that crown no more, baby. Can't wear that crown anymore."

Two things. One, the New England Patriots haven't won a Super Bowl since their 2005 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. So we're not sure what crown Jacobs is speaking of. Two, "decapitate" is some very, very harsh imagery after a Super Bowl victory and with your two sons in your arms. Just saying..

Anyways, watch the clip above to see Jacobs' reaction.

Much ado about nothing. First off, although it was a close game and "decapitated" would be somewhat inaccurate, he didn't say it in a way that I found outrageous. I expected some trash-talking, and that really didn't happen.

Secondly, yes, the Patriots have not won the SB since 2005, BUT, we always hear so much hype surrounding them and Tom Brady; including the fact that the Patriots seemed to be favored over the Giants when the Giants already beat them the last time around.

I think, now, you can call the Giants/Patriots rivalry decisively in the Giants' favor. It can't be called a fluke or anything else. The Giants just put a better team on the field (twice).

Any stupid remark gets turned into a big story. Most of us has said something bad at one time or another but fortunately we didn't have a headline-hungry reporter following us around.

This is just another example of the media taking something out of context and blowing it out of proportions. A little bit of Political Correctness also maybe.

The media keeps pushing the Patriots as if they're something special. They attempted to give the impression that they were a "shoe-in" this year, when in fact they, as Green Bay, were extremely vulnerable because their extremely shotty defense. And, don't say dropped catches, BOTH teams had dropped catches and failed opportunities.

The BEST team won, period.

And Jacobs comment was just his way of saying, "The king is dead, long live the King".

Leave the guy alone, he earned the right to say what he said his way, so don't try to make something out of it that it is not.

Maybe because she's a supermodel? Jealous?

I am not jealous of anyone, she made some dumb comments about the team and said it wasn't her husbands fault.

He has a right to say what he wants about a dumb football team. go giants

The Giants have no class. I knew the game was over on the Patriots first play. That game sucked.

Yeah, those dull SBs that are decided within the last minute after a near-miraculous 88-yard drives are simply intolerable.

Maybe he really doesn't know what it means. It was a good game and the Giants earned the victory, but it was far from a "decapitation". Oh, and it was a class thing to say while holding his children.

Brandon Jacobs needs to get a life!

Apparently, his life involves decapitating the Patriots!
