President Obama Bemoans First Lady Michelle Being Dragged Into Politics

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama says one of the toughest parts about being president is that his wife has been dragged into the "political realm."

Obama was responding to a question about how he felt when Michelle Obama said she has been inaccurately portrayed as an "angry black woman." While the president did not address that comment specifically, he says his wife is as good a first lady as anyone could imagine, and says he believes Americans have a positive impression of her.

Obama also says the first lady is ready for another four years in the White House, despite her initial reservations about coming to Washington.

The president spoke in an interview with NBC.

I agree with other writers. Michelle crossed the line when she implied that she was not proud to be an American until they elected Obama just because he is black. I would think I would have been prouder had they voted intelligently, not based on race. Hilary was the better choice, and would have also been a first. But more so, she would have been a better leader, she believed in the US, she believed in capitalism, she would have been more willing to cross the aisle and engage Republicans. The wife of a President is a role model and should be proud of her country at all times, not just when they act in a racist manner (and remember voting for someone just because they are black is still being racist).

At least be honest. She later apologized for the statement so yes she did say it and imply it. And Newsflash, any one who actually read the texts of his campaign speeches when he was running for office would have quickly noticed his promises changed from area to area. And many were contradictory. Untrue to his promise he has devastated the space program, putting over 20,000 out of work. His Heath act has been shown to have a cost of $1 trillion per year. And even with that massive infusion over 100 procedures have been declared as no longer covered, meaning his health care program will decrease access, increase costs, and actually reduce quality. He has been shown to be antisemitic, such as his on mike statements to Sarkozy. He is known world wide to be pro Muslim over Christianity such as in Egypt where he helped install a radical Muslim govt in Egypt that has already kidnapped or killed over 1,500 Christians. His economic programs have been a failure, it slowed down the recovery Bush started. He has accumulated so much debt that if given 4 more years he will make it unsustainable. He has created runaway inflation, if not for housing it would officially be over 12%. Time to wake up. Voting for a person because of their race is just as racist as voting against someone because of their race.

Why shouldn't 8th graders understand the Presidents speech. Most of them were quite capable of working out that Bush made no sense any time he opened his mouth.

I doubt whether the Obama's or anyone, really would or could have predicted the rise of extremist hate fueled, racist rhetoric that has occurred since they took power, They probably didn't predict that most of the attacks on them wouldn't bear any relationship to anything they'd done, but just be based on lies and slanders, and ignorant opinions, like yours about the quality of the SOU address.
