TLC Brings Drama To Boston In 'Southie Pride'

'Jersey Shore' Creator Brings Drama To Southie

Is "Jersey Shore" headed to South Boston? Well, kind of. 495 Productions, the same production company that brought us the greatness of "Jersey Shore," is producing a new series for TLC, one that will take viewers into the tight-knit community of South Boston.

The reality series, which is currently under the working title "Southie Pride, will go inside the homes of five South Boston -- or Southie as they're otherwise known -- women as they struggle to make a life for their families and protect the people they love the most.

495 Productions is currently casting, but they did make it to South Boston this past weekend just in time for the town to suffer through a devastating Super Bowl loss by the Patriots.

“Spend some time with the women of South Boston and you quickly learn that pride runs deep, family comes first, and that their friendships and rivalries are forever,” said SallyAnn Salsano, President of 495 Productions, in a statement. “And, their accents are wicked awesome.”

TLC has ordered eight episodes, and the series is scheduled to premiere this Fall. Sadly, Mark Wahlberg is not attached to the project.
