Tony Bennett's Valentine's Day Performance: Legend To Reprise 'I Left My Heart In San Francisco' (VIDEOS)

PHOTOS: Our Favorite Love Songs To The City

It's no secret our hearts belong to this city. We can't even watch a simple tourism video without getting goosebumps.

Tony Bennett left his heart here a half-century ago, too, and this Valentine's Day, he's coming back to reclaim it.

The legendary crooner will mark the 50th anniversary of his most famous ballad's release with a special benefit performance at the Fairmont's Venetian Room -- the very first place he performed the song live. (Sorry, sportsfans, tickets to the show sold out almost immediately.) Proceeds will go towards UCSF's heart research program.

Though originally composed by under-the-radar songwriters and rumored to have underwhelmed Bennett himself the first time he heard it, not only did "I Left My Heart" end up defining Bennett's career, but it has since become our city's official anthem (for real). "That song helped make me a world citizen," Bennett told the Daily Mail in 2010. "It allowed me to live, work and sing in any city on the globe. It changed my whole life."

Since its 1962 debut at the Fairmont, Bennett has performed the song on myriad special occasions throughout the city over the years, including the Golden Gate Bridge 50th anniversary celebration in 1987 and game three of the 2002 World Series. But his upcoming Valentine's Day show will mark the first time he reprises the tune at its origin.

In the spirit of Saint Valentine, Tony Bennett and our shared love of Ess Eff, we've compiled other favorite tributes to our city in the video slideshow below. Take a look, have a listen and let us know in the comments if we should add any others.

Because nothing says lovin' like a good song about San Francisco.
