Super Bowl 2012 Proposal: Giants Linebacker Greg Jones Pops The Question (VIDEO)

After winning his first Super Bowl on Sunday night, New York Giants' rookie linebacker Greg Jones surprised his girlfriend, Mandy Piechowski, with an on-field proposal.

After Piechowski ran to congratulate her boyfriend on his big win, Jones pulled out a round-cut diamond engagement ring, got down on one knee and popped the question. In tears, Piechowski said yes.

The couple have been dating for a year and a half. They met at Michigan State University three years ago where Jones played football and Piechowski played basketball.

I have lived on the West coast, East coast, Southwest, and midwest. I have travelled to other countries and met amazing Black women of every nationality. I am a Black woman from a family of Black women who taught me how to behave and be a respectable, productive citizen of the worl. I have encountered nasty people of all races, especially people who are poor and less educated. Some were Black women, many were not... I say you are not enlightened because you have allowed negative media portrayals and stereotypes to affect your already biased views. There are plenty of positive Black female figures the media chooses to ignore, and if you wanted to find positive Black women in your own community I'm sure you could but you are probably to stuck in you mindset. I hope one day your mind can be opened.

Why do people gotta hate on this story? Sounds like two people with a lot in common (she was a 2-time captain of the women's basketball team & he obviously on the football team) who met cute in college, got to know each other & fell in love. Isn't that kind of the American Dream? Generations change people. My boy is a Freshman in college and sees no difference between white, Asian, Indian, and sometimes black women (sorry, some things are just hard to change), nor in any difference in Nationality or religion. I think this is awesome & he's taught me a lot. I'm happy for these kids & wish them success!
