Kylie Minogue was left fearing for her safety this week after a crazed fan sent the diva threatening messages via her Twitter page.

The harassment was so extreme, a frightened Minogue felt compelled to ask law enforcement to investigate the perpetrator and their cyber threats.

Sounds like a plant for media attention. I mean there are only so many gay men in the world! Expand your audience! I saw a 3D concert from UK on cable wasn't that impressed( fast forwarded to only hits).If it's true it is probably a tweak-er when they come down they will have forgotten all about it!

She is a bit of a gay icon in Europe. From what I've read, she just didn't want to tackle the US market--was content with Europe and Australia.

I very much sympathize with stars when it comes to stalking. Fame has lots of perks, but this isn't one of them. Stars must accept the fact that their lives will be intruded upon to a certain degree. That pretty much comes with the territory. But they are particularly vulnerable to stalking. When millions of people know who you are, the odds are pretty high that one of them will have a screw loose.

This is one reason why I can't understand why so many people these days seem to want to be famous even if wealth doesn't come with it. I can't think of anything worse. Famous people have greater security concerns. But most of them can afford to pay for extra security to protect themselves.

It would be a drag to be famous and have crazy people stalking you but not have any way of protecting yourself from them.
