Rick Santorum Wins: Missouri Primary Results 2012

Rick Santorum Wins Missouri Primary

Rick Santorum was projected the winner of the Missouri primary on Tuesday night by NBC.

The vote was merely symbolic as the state's 52 presidential delegates will be awarded through a process beginning with a caucus on March 17.

Mitt Romney was projected to finish in second place and Ron Paul was projected to finish third by ABC News. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich did not meet the qualifications to appear on the state's ballot.

The Minnesota caucus and Colorado caucus also took place on Tuesday.

Santorum came out on top in the North Star State shortly after the results rolled in for the Missouri contest.
