Justice Sonia Sotomayor Rules Sesame Street With Goldilocks v. Baby Bear (VIDEO)

First Posted: 02/07/2012 5:02 pm Updated: 02/08/2012 9:41 am

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor gave her opinion on Goldilocks v. Baby Bear in a new video on the Sesame Street Youtube page.

Over a cup of coffee with her friend Maria, the first Hispanic on the high court -- who has served on the Supreme Court since her appointment by President Obama in August 2009 -- doled out some justice.

According to Baby Bear, Goldilocks came into his house, totally uninvited, sat in his chair and broke it.

How did the Justice rule?

After hearing both sides of the case, the Justice decided that Goldilocks would have to help repair the chair, and she told Baby Bear that "Goldilocks didn't mean to break the chair, and accidents do happen."

Up next, the three little pigs and a big bad wolf hash out a disagreement.

The 42nd season of Sesame Street will focus on science, math and engineering education.

What was it Sotomayer said about a "wise Latina?" Based on the protocol observed by all the other justices to have served on the Supreme Court, an appearance on a non-documentary television show is well beneath her dignity. This move was not wise.

Doesn't she know property rights are more important than common sense?

in all seriousness, that was pretty cute :D

Someone FINALLY found a bench that Sotomayor is qualified to sit on...
01:06 AM on 02/09/2012
SOTOMAYOR was $400,000.00 - FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND in debt - at the time that Obama announced her as his nominee.

Under any other circumstances, this would have prevented a nomination - or had the nomination withdrawn - once discovered.

A judge in that much debt - could be compromised.

Libs on this very site said the same thing about Marco Rubio and his finances.

Selective outrage on their part.

In other words, they are hypocritical.
05:45 PM on 02/09/2012
So how about belonging to conservative organizations and not recusing yourself when in your court. Any compromise there?
12:44 AM on 02/09/2012
wow - Sotomayor w an appearance on Sesame Street........next will be Kagan = Captain Kangaroo.
12:05 AM on 02/09/2012
Thank you Justice Sotomayor for appearing on Sesame Street. Your vision, hard work, preparation and commitment to service is a wonderful example for our children. Many young lives will be positively affected by this small gesture. It is never too early to plant the seeds of success and imagination in the minds of the little ones. Your position is a reminder of the tapestry that is America and what makes our country great.

it is also called "indoctrination".

Doesn't look church like to me!

Great comment! I'm sure there are many young people who are inspired by a Latino, female Justice. No matter what their ideology, its always great to get kids motivated and involved early :D

You definitely are conservative if you can't figure that out. Ask Faux Nooz, they tell you everything else to think!

geez louise, I see a lot of you haven't gotten the memo from Eric Bolling calling off the fatwa against the Muppets for being dirty Commies. I wish Anthony Scalia and Clarence Thomas would swing by Sesame Street: might keep them out of trouble.

I would like to see all nine justices on Survivor and Top Chef.

Taxing the rich is a guise for taxing the poor
08:46 PM on 02/08/2012
Obviously, she cares nothing about the teaching of children that it is alright to:
1. Break into someones house
2. Trespass
3. Steal
Yea, I would say she is a typical liberal judge!
09:15 PM on 02/08/2012
I said the essentially the same in an earlier post, very respectfully, and my post was removed for "guidelines violations". I violated no guidelines and neither did you, but don't be surprised if your comment is removed (assuming they even allow my response to your comment).

09:48 PM on 02/08/2012
If they do remove it, it won't be the first time!
11:31 AM on 02/13/2012
If the door was open, its not breaking, it could be considered trespass IF the bear held charges, but even that is minor since there was no actually "breaking" in.

It is really hard to steal something (ie the chair) when the other person has it in hand. Unless you are alluding to porridge, and frankly, who leaves that out on the table to go on a walk?

They don't have money on sesame street as far as I know, so repairing the destruction of property is probably more than apt.

But yeah I guess instead of thinking this was cute and funny little "judgement" on little bear v goldilocks which is based on a fairytale anyway, it is much better to take it seriously and call them a liberal. That's not partisan at all...

Is this what our Supreme Court has on its docket that is so important to the people?? These people are paid big bucks by us to waste our tax dollars and time with stupidity.
12:48 AM on 02/09/2012
a US taxpayer-paid appearance - on Sesame Street - is exacty what the Obama Administration is all about.
11:33 AM on 02/13/2012
I have a very hard time believing that PBS (public broadcasting station that the repubs tried to defund last year) paid taxpayer money to pay for an employee of the federal government to show up.

Keep on with you logic please, it is the giggles.
05:50 PM on 02/09/2012
So your saying the SCOTUS is like the rubepublican house? Based on recent decisions you have a point but then it's gone conservative so it's as dysfunctional as everything else they touch!
