David Shuster Challenges Michelle Obama To Exercise Showdown, Interview (VIDEO)

WATCH: David Shuster's Challenge To Michelle Obama

David Shuster requested an interview with Michelle Obama, and challenged the First Lady to another fitness competition on Wednesday's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann."

Shuster was referring to Jimmy Fallon's showdown with the First Lady, which was to raise awareness of her childhood obesity campaign. Obama handily beat Fallon in push-ups, dodgeball and a sack race.

After replaying the clip, Shuster questioned whether Fallon was a worthy competitor. "Jimmy Fallon? Sure, he's funny, musical and a good actor, but he's no athlete," he joked.

Touting his own athletic accomplishments, Shuster threw his jacket on the floor and challenged Mrs. Obama to another showdown. "It's time for you to take on some real competition," he said. The Current TV host proceeded to show his chops backstage. He did pushups, hopped around in a garbage bag, and of course, hit a producer in the groin with a dodgeball.

He made his final pitch for both his inner athlete and newsman. "Mrs. First Lady, bravo on the exercise initiative, but next time bring a real athlete to the White House: me!" he said. "You, me, Current Television, an interview, some exercise competition -- that is how we're going to get this nation in shape."
