When US companies outsource the codes, then what do they expect?
08:01 AM on 02/12/2012
It's MADE WORST if US Software product source-codes are given to foreign govt (e.g. INDIA):
Indian hackers stole Norton Source code, GIVEN to and KEPT BY INDIA govt: http://www.securityweek.com/symantec-investigating-possible-theft-norton-av-source-code
http://www.securityweek.com/symantec-says-norton-source-code-was-stolen-2006
Through the Indian TANCS Programme: Blackberry, Apple, Nokia have provided source code to the Indian govt. http://m.timesofindia.com/PDATOI/articleshow/11442247.cms

Who cares about one company spying on another. What bothers me is there not taking company information ( tech ) they are taking the data that has been mined on all of us, name,DOB,SSN, address, all vitals, even what we buy on a daily bases.

Truthfully, I hope the money masters of the universe who think they're so invincible lose their shirts through some silly little detail they've overlooked through their arrogance. No one stays on top forever.

These corporate honchos moved our good paying jobs to China for cheap labor and now they find themselves being spied on by the Chinese. How is this not hilarious?

Despite these known dangers, most corporate communications is done through email, which is about as secure as writing your company internals on a postcard.

BIG DEAL.
Govt (both US and foreign, including our allies) spy on their citizens, not just in their emails but in their social-networking communications (Facebook, Tweeter, etc.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of that. In fact, I sent HP an email about it today. So far no reply. Smells like a rat to me.

Industrial espionage is a modern fact of life, for businesses both great, and small. Now that we live in a 'global' economy, that competition has also become global, and now digital. And, the problem is just as much within our borders, as outside of it, and you figure that companies that view the world as a marketplace, with potentially 7 billion customers(who all apparently eat at McDonalds, over 99 billion served), could tend to become more than a little mercenarial in their business practices, which would include helping themselves to any information that became available for exploitation and analysis, which is why you always read that 'no reverse engineering' stuff in the software EULA's and all that stuff. Lots of money out there...and people would just as soon it was in their hands, as the competition's.

Adding to that, EVEN OUR OWN govt, authorizes spying/surveillance/intelligence gathering, not just on our enemies but on our allies!!! http://articles.latimes.com/1995-07-23/news/mn-27056_1_economic-espionage

Wall Street doesn't need to resort to digital espionage to make money. All they do is pay off a few Senators and Congressmen, and they can rip us off legally.

Interesting but considering many of our electronics (including computers) are made in China, what if those aren't "clean"?

On the other hand, they must be loading a bunch of Americana (where's the nearest Chipotle's, 27 hours of old Led Zeppelin concerts from YouTube, etc...)

I can assure you that the Chinese have no interest whatsoever in spying on you. Spying on an entire population would be the ultimate exercise in futility. Spying is always very very focused...
08:20 PM on 02/11/2012
Yep, the former GDR proved that. They had a file on everyone... on the day the people stormed the offices of the intelligence agencies, the agency employees were desperately trying to shred and burn the files they had on themselves. It was very funny. Of course none of that spying did anything to stop the collapse of the Eastern block countries.

Real worry is that someone may expose their cash hiding techniques, accounts and locations.
Secrets are traded away as foreign acquisition fees, just ask Westinghouse.
