Julianne Moore: What's Her Secret?

First Posted: 02/12/2012 6:35 am Updated: 05/23/2012 1:59 pm

Julianne Moore, 51, looked every inch the movie star at the amfAR New York Gala To Kick Off Fall 2012 Fashion Week on February 9. Moore is keeping busy with more than the red carpet, though.

Moore is leading the Valentine's Day campaign for Save the Children's U.S. Programs 'Love to Read, Read to Live' campaign. There's still time to purchase a Valentine to support the fight against poverty in the U.S. (Or heck, stock up and use them for next year!) The cards are designed by children's book authors and illustrators, including Ian Falconer, Kevin Henkes and Leuyen Pham. To learn more go here.

Meanwhile, we can't wait to see Moore play Sarah Palin in the HBO movie "Game Change," premiering March 10. According to USA Today, Moore spoke with Capitol File in an interview that appears Feb. 22, saying she "basically had two months to prepare, so I cleared my schedule of everything, literally. I cleared everything that didn't involve my family—I just let go of it and spent all my time doing research. It was total immersion. The trickiest thing is to take all these physical and vocal characteristics and somehow filter the character's essence through them. And then you personally have to meet them somewhere, too. There's this melding that has to happen."

Frankly, we'd like to know Moore's health and beauty regime, but we suspect one key to looking so vibrant is Moore's deep engagement in projects she cares about. You might call it inner beauty.

Check out the trailer for "Game Change" below:

I am 51 and she doesnt look all that much different than other slim, fit 51 year olds who have no sun damage and get a bit of botox in the forehead. I'm not sure where people live that 51 year olds look so old and out of shape that people are incredulous. I know a lot of it comes from 68 year women claiming to be 53.

Why is it such a shock that a woman looks great at 51 and not just for her age? We live in an age of modern medicine, people! Our lives extend well past our 50's and 60's.

The more time I spend on this planet and the more I reflect upon how things are; the more I have come to understand, with cosmic certainty this one fact:

Women are beautiful at every age. Period.

We need to put a stop to all the constant self-loathing examination of who looks better in what and why. I make it a point of letting the women in my life know just how beautiful they are to me. It never has a bad consequence.

Inner beauty? Yes, absolutely...that's by far the most appealing aspect of Julianne.
