'Ax Men': Trailer Full Of Logs Slides Off The Road And Down The Mountain (VIDEO)

Truck Driver Loses Logs, Narrowly Escapes On 'Ax Men'

Logging is one of the most dangerous jobs in America, and on "Ax Men" (Sun., 9 p.m. EST on History) viewers got to see why.

A trailer fully loaded with valuable logs slid off the road and down the mountain, but luckily driver Matt Skerbeck was able to keep his cab on the road. Barely. "If that truck would have backed up one foot," he said, "I would have jumped."

However, he wasn't able to escape the wrath of Rygaard logging owner Craig Rygaard. Incensed, he yelled "I cannot believe you cut this corner and drove off this f***ing road! ... Idiot!"

Looking at the muddy track, Skerbeck defended himself: "This road is so slick that it was not possible for me to keep the trailer on the road."

Craig and the crew managed to salvage the trailer from the steep slope, but with $1,000-worth of logs still laying there he decided to cut his losses and call it a day.

"Ax Men" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on History.
