Lady Gaga puckered up to Sir Paul McCartney during Sunday's 54th annual Grammy Awards, planting a big one on the Beatles singer's cheek right through her mesh veil .
The pop princess kept a low profile during the show, skipping the red carpet completely. Perhaps last year's egg-tastic entrance was too hard an act to follow? The first glimpse of Mother Monster didn't hit our TV screens until the show began. Her mesh and faux-leather full-body ensemble and scepter accessory kept in line with Gaga's typically outrageous award show looks, but the subdued singer wasn't heard from much on music's biggest night. She was up for Album Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album, losing out on all three to the night's biggest winner, Adele.
Gaga, dressed in head-to-toe black, may have been honoring the late Whitney Houston with her somber appearance, but as the night wore on, it seemed everyone at the Staples Center lightened up a bit. The combination of tributes to Houston, Amy Winehouse and Etta James, among many others, and Adele's celebrated return and 6 for 6 win made for a night of remembrance, respect and some show-stopping performances.
Take a look at Gaga's smooch with Sir Paul and some photos of the performances below.
