Tim And Eric Go On Austin Morning Show, Confuse Host (VIDEO)

WATCH: Tim & Eric Morning Show Appearance Exactly What You Think

Tim and Eric are known for making fun of local television, but in an instance of reality imitating art, they can be just as funny on real-life local TV. Case in point: An appearance on "Good Day Austin" on a Texas Fox affiliate last Friday left the host struggling to explain the comedians to his audience when they came on to promote "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie."

But Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim seem particularly at home during the interview -- after all, they've spent the better part of the last five years figuring out why local television is funny, and exploiting it, on "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job."

After taking the first minute or so of the interview to rearrange the plants on the table, Wareheim offers the "Billion Dollar Movie Guarantee," where he'll visit the homes of moviegoers to personally give back their money and tuck them into bed if they are unsatisfied with "Billion Dollar Movie." Considering Austin's reputation as a hotbed of art and innovation, it's likely that plenty of people working on the show were entertained, but the host and producers seemed baffled, based on how often they cut to clips of the duo's movie.

Even if you don't live in Austin to see Tim and Eric at the Alamo Drafthouse (known for its strict no-texting policy), you can download "Billion Dollar Movie" from iTunes now, or wait to see it in theaters on March 2.
