'Caged': A Fighter Struggles To Cope With His Mother's Mental Health Issues (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

"Caged" (Mon., 10 p.m. EST on MTV) fighter Danger got into the sport as a way of making a better life for himself, but sometimes it's been hard for him to get away from family strife and concentrate on his training.

On Monday night's episode Danger had one more thing added to his list of problems and distractions. Two days after a booze-fuelled party at her house Danger's mother was admitted to hospital after suffering what he described as "a small mental breakdown."

"My mother had loaded a gun," Danger said, "and she accidentally shot a hole in the wall, so everyone kind of freaked out."

Talking about her problems he added that he'd watched her "day by day just slip further away from reality."

However, he didn't think the incident with the gun was a suicide attempt. "She was probably just drunk and being silly."

"Caged" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on MTV.
