Kim Kardashian Divorce: Bruce Jenner Had Doubts About Stepdaughter's Marriage

WATCH: Bruce Jenner Says Kim's Next Boyfriend Has To 'Go Through Me'

Kris and Bruce Jenner stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Tuesday to talk parenting and Kris' new book -- but the talk inevitably turned to daughter Kim Kardashian's divorce from Kris Humphries.

"Looking back, did you know that it wouldn't work with Kris?" DeGeneres asked Bruce Jenner.

"I had my questions," he admitted. "I remember when Kris came to me -- we were playing golf -- and he asked 'Is it okay if I ask for her hand in marriage?' In the back of my head, I said, I dont know if she's going to say yes, but it's not my decision, so go for it."

Though Kardashian did said "yes", the reality star ultimately filed for divorce in October 2011, just 72 days after her estimated $10 million dollar wedding.

For her part, "momager" Kris Jenner told DeGeneres that she doesn't question most of her children's decisions. "We obviously have internal conversations, like, 'What the hell are you doing?'" she joked.

But Bruce, who is reportedly always kept out of the loop -- he found out about Khloe Kardashian's September 2009 engagement to Lamar Odom over the radio and "was the last to know" about Kim's split from Humphries -- had a different opinion.

"Maybe we should start questioning some of their decisions," he suggested.

So what will happen the next time Kardashian brings home a suitor to meet the family? "The next guy's gotta go through me," Bruce said.
