'World's Toughest Trucker' Premiere: A Team Finds An Overturned Car In The Australian Outback (VIDEO)

"The World's Toughest Truck Driver" (Mon., 10 p.m. EST on Discovery) promises to take viewers on a tour of some of the most dangerous roads on earth, from British Columbia to Austrialia, via Brazil and India.

But it's not just a travel show, it's also a competition (think "The Amazing Race" in trucks). Randomly paired-up in teams of two, eight of the world's most experienced truck drivers will race each other along these treacherous roads as they try to take home the title.

On the series premiere, the road warriors headed Down Under for a three-day race across the Australian Outback.

Just fifteen minutes into the race Shane (U.S.A.) and Zola (Sri Lanka) saw an overturned car on the road. Without thinking twice, Shane called it in and then the guys pulled over to see what they could do to help.

While Zola managed oncoming traffic, Shane and their back-up team dug out the passenger and then tried to extricate the driver, who was in pretty bad shape.

Trapped upside down, "he was blue," said Shane. "He was twisted in a way the human body's not designed to be twisted. ... All of that affects you mentally."

Luckily the car's occupants were both wearing seatbelts. In Shane's opinion, if they hadn't been, then he and Zola would have found two dead bodies inside the wreckage.

In all, the good samaritans spent over an hour helping out and, as a reward, their race clock was stopped, which meant they hadn't lost any time performing their good deeds.
