The origins of the Lemmings myth comes from Disney. They were producing a nature documentary, and basically chased the things off the cliff and said ''they just jumped''. Pretty sure they fed them, and then threw food over the edge if I remember correctly...

"Daddy longlegs" is a common name for two different kinds of arachnids - the Pholcids and the Opilionids. Pholcids are spiders that can spin webs. Opilionids are related to spiders (much as scorpions are related to spiders) but are not true spiders. You can tell them apart because Pholcids have two body parts (head/thorax and abdomen) and Opilionids have only one (head/thorax/abdomen fused)

Spiders freak me out! lol but I'm glad to know more about them, because they do fascinate me. Biological technology , their webs, make me really consider who indeed is at the top of evolution. Plus, they eat black widows, or is that another myth?

I'm almost sure that I saw a nature program years ago that showed that when lemmings overpopulate they run into the sea in mass, must have just been a dream.
