I also suppose this is the by-product of modern Republican philosophy of deregulation is good for business-and you can see why! Corporations, or rather people who are mandated by a change in Corporate Charters(David Rockefeller not wanting to be bound to the philosophy of a previous charter requirement (Corporations must be measured by the level of good they provide for the community & nation) where "Social Responsibility" was converted into a mandate requiring due diligence to serve greater "Shareholder Dividends".

Tort liability balanced against social responsibility & the medical establishment that is served by it through their patients, should hold their same feet to the fire of "do no harm".

Since profit ultimately covers the loss, we should hold them to what works, "suspending their license to do business, until such time they can demonstrate a change in behaviors measured by the level of good they perform for humanity, versus the money they make for the junk they produce that only serves harm to humanity.

The people of this nation given everything we have seen over the last 10 yearsought to of by now had just about enough sickening storiesneed to start

At some point I would think there would be a general awakening of the masses that humanity just might be better served by re-structuring how we use money in this society, because it seems not a day goes by anymore where you don't read where families suffer as a result where corporations or individuals are so driven to make a profit chasing down dollars in a money system which uses bank credit IOU's to keep money in circulation as old debt money is extinguished.
It doesn't matter whether they skim money off the top, cook the books, falsify testimony or records, create fraudulent setups to defraud families from investments, brokers & company executives who routinely lie as a matter of business practice and on & on & on.
The model of Western Civilization that is centered on a Hamster Wheel of chasing dollars has so corrupted the mind, body spiritual connection of what it means to be human among the natural world as to make life meaningless for so many when it's built on a foundation of a fraudulent philosophy of life.

We need to throw off the shackles of this corrupted system & start reexamining alternatives, especially when you consider we have a money system that uses debt as its primary means to function, or it will collapse.

That's simply not sustainable on it's face.

If this story was on the front page of today's newspapers, no one in their right mind would vote
for more deregulation of business. The front page news in my local papers was a basketball player - whatshisname...

This is not news! Drug companies not only sell defective products in other countries, they also use people for drug testing. Watch the Constant Gardner for a movie that depicts what happens in Africa.

"There is no indication that J&J broke the law". No indeed, but there is ample indication of bad faith. This is another clear-cut example of why businesses do need regulations. The profit incentive all too often trumps ethics.

They're gonna sell it for whatever they can get, and whomever it hurts, well tough beans for them. A capitalist company cares not.

This only seems fair. After all, Monsanto isn't allowed to spray their poisons on EU foods, but they can still spray them on ours.

We have to get rid of our deadly crap somewhere don't we?

This is free-market capitalism at its finest....greed and profit motive above all else including integrity and the health and safety of other human beings.

Removing the implant itself is an injury all over again.

This is a symptom of the unregulated pursuit of profit.

Is this the GOP's vision for the future of America? No FDA?
10:52 AM on 02/15/2012
Yes indeed, this is the gop's vision for the US. pro-business at any cost, and if you get hurt, they want you to be without any recourse at all.

Buyer beware! Even if you don't have the skills to evaluate an implant (PhD in Bio Mechanical Engineering), that's just too bad. That's not the fault of job creators like Johnson and Johnson.

The no recourse issue is so sore it leave me speechless. I am without speech. Its as sore as the victims of this faulty implant.

FDA, EPA, OSHA rejections? No problem - export them where there are no regulations.

NO! Say it isn't so. Johnson and Johnson would never do something like that. Do you think they did it for the money and dont care about the patients? No worries the private market will take of it. What a bunch of $$$$$$$hit.

The invisible hand of the market will cut open the 93,000 patients that got the bad implant and replace it with another questionable implant. How long will these patients live if they aren't already dead?

Free market ideology is a Con . . . total Con.

One more way big government regulation is causing the American consumer to pay higher prices and may cause us to lose more jobs. Let's hope the Republicans get on this right away. If they can tear themselves away from banning birth control and hassling gays.

I'll bet they might even give me a discount, or maybe an incentive like a free lottery ticket where the winner actually gets to meet Orly Taitz?

Wonderful idea!

There is needs to be a law against companies doing it.
