Larry King

Larry King and CNN are officially parting ways. The network announced on Wednesday that it has decided to end the "Larry King Specials." King said he will now focus on other projects.

King, who is 78 years old, ended his 25-year role at the network as the host of prime time show "Larry King Live" in December 2010. CNN and King agreed that the famed interviewer would host four specials a year for CNN.

His specials thus far have focused on topics ranging from Alzheimer's to an exclusive interview with Johnny Depp. His most recent special, "A Larry King Special: Dinner With the Kings," aired in December. King's last special made headlines as the broadcaster revealed that he would like to be frozen after his death.

According to the Los Angeles Times, King's staff of four will likely be let go but may have the opportunity to reapply for new jobs at the network.

King's show was replaced with "Piers Morgan Tonight," an interview show hosted by British media personality, Piers Morgan.

Larry should just take those millions and start spending. For sure when he's gone his wife and kids are going to live like a "King".

his "specials" were so he and the misses can get their own reality show.

If the media is going by their ratings, fergit about it. People are cutting the cable off in record numbers, It is a dying medium. Just like the tel-type machine. Old News same ol'e fluff.
People know the truth when they hear it, and that never happens on network TV, that are owned by the corporate giants.

I like to call the out-casts, patriots for personal liberty and freedom of expression.
That's what so many of our fore-fathers fought for and died for. Why stop now?

All the news stations are stripping people of their right to freedom of expression. Their viewers are fleeting into the truth and narrow by-ways of news. The media is not like it used to be, there is no swaying public opinion, by twisting the truth. People still talk to each other.

Clear discrimination on CNN's part. The network WILL be hearing from the Non-Living Association of America!

Why do these media darlings stay so long? Are they just addicted to the spotlight? If I had made the money King did, I would have retired long ago and be relaxing on a beach somewhere. Guess those Type-A narcissists can't do that, huh?

i was stuck in o'hare when "dinner with the kings" aired and, despite being in the same terminal for hours with nothing else to do, it was still torturous to watch. no matter how much they attempted to make it seem like a "salon", at the end of the day, it was nothing more than bigillionaires itting around a mansion being fed by wolfgang puck pontificating on random topics that were bordering on the absurd and unobtainable.

it's a good thing that they finally let him go out to pasture. letting him hang around like brett favre wa not a good idea.

Banfield is simply the most insipid personality on TV today. I don't know who she is or where she came from, but she's terrible. Is she still calling people at 5:30 AM and telling them that the FBI is on the way to their house?

banfield has been to so many networks & she can't seem to find the right spot maybe it's your personality ashley?. i watched sambolin at nbc chicago in the a.m. & liked her a great deal. being on with ashley is not her format. she is dominated by ashley who seems to be hogging the program. bad mistake sambolin!
