The Huffington Post     First Posted: 02/16/2012 8:13 am   Updated: 02/16/2012 8:13 am

These ten public schools will give you the best bang for your buck, and these six schools are actually cutting tuition costs -- but which private schools give students the best value?

The Princeton Review recently rated the best value private colleges for 2012. Williams College was the highest ranked school, with Swarthmore coming in second.

Apart from the "Top 10" lists for private and public institutions, the Princeton Review features a comprehensive 2012 Best Value Colleges list with a total of 150 schools, half of them private and half public. This list is available alphabetically online, and users can click on the schools included for a quick profile of admissions statistics and other information. Alternatively, the new Princeton Review's Best Value Colleges book provides a paperback copy of this same information for penny-pinching "prospies."

Check out the "Top 10 Best Value Private Colleges for 2012."

Washington University should send HuffPo a cease and desist letter for that photo pretending to represent the university. I'm thinking whoever put the gallery together went to Emory.

The ivy league schools are basically free if you make under $100,000.
