'The Biggest Loser': Both Teams Must Get By Without Their Trainers For The Week (VIDEO)

Both Teams Go Without Trainers On 'Biggest Loser'

It was certainly an interesting week on "The Biggest Loser" (Tue., 8 p.m. EST on NBC). For the second week in a row, the Red Team had to learn how to succeed without any access to trainer Dolvett Quince. But at least this time the Black Team was in the same boat.

As part of the Valentine's Day theme, both coaches were whisked off-campus to train one on one with a single member from their teams. That person's weight loss would decided the fate of their entire team. In an arrangement so perfect for storytelling purposes one might suspect the producers had orchestrated it, Bob chose Daphne while Dolvett put the Red Team's fate in the hands of Conda.

Conda has been at the center of most of the drama this season, most recently with her open disdain of Daphne's brother Adrian. She certainly played a hand in his elimination as well. The women got into a shouting match after that, so this battle was about more than just the game. It was personal.

To raise the stakes on campus, the remaining members of each team would compete on the scales as well. The winning team would hand their representative a one pound advantage. The Red Team picked up a one pound advantage already going into the weigh-in with another dominant challenge performance.

In the gym, the difference between the teams was evident. Dolvett had put Kim in charge last week, giving her guidance and trusting in her past experience as an athlete. That trust paid off, even though the team lost that week. But their determination and commitment showed as they worked out hard again this week, while the Black Team seemed to flounder a bit without strong leadership.

On the scales, the Red Team dominated the Black Team, beating them before all their members had been weighed in. Unfortunately, it was only Conda's weight that would decide their fate. All they could do was give her that second pound advantage. Add to that the 10 pounds she lost at home, and Conda had a lot to be proud of. She started breaking down some of her emotional walls -- that may be a root cause to her attitude problems -- and learned the value of team.

Unfortunately, Daphne killed it at home, losing 12 pounds at home with Bob by her side. Climbing to the observation deck of the Willis Tower on Chicago probably helped a lot, too. So despite a strong effort again by the Red Team, they faced elimination for the third week in a row. There, even Alison seemed surprised that they targeted Roy for elimination, despite his 9-pound weight loss that week. She can't seem to figure out their values in the game.

Watch things get crazy again, according to the promos, as "The Biggest Loser" continues Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
