Alex Da Corte's Shampoo Paintings (PHOTOS)

This Was Made Using Shampoo

Mostly when we use shampoo, we stick to the guidelines "Lather, rinse, repeat." But New York up-and-comer Alex Da Corte stopped washing and started painting... and the results are fresh and lively.

Da Corte is known for his playful and unorthodox use of materials -- past projects have incorporated Coca Cola bottles, fingernails and Christmas trees, though his giddy exploration into the aesthetics of everything gets extra refreshing with his dried shampoo paintings. With commercially friendly yet strangely beautiful titles like "Ocean Splash" and "Apricot Breeze," the works remind us how beautiful banality can be.

Do these paintings shine like the hair of a Pantene Pro-V model? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
