Bon Iver 4AD Session: Justin Vernon And Sean Carey Sing Their Hearts Out For 24 Minutes (VIDEO)

With their recent Grammy wins and growing popularity, everyone knows Bon Iver is good. Few are familiar with their raw power, though. 4AD, the group's independent record label, released an intimate performance by Justin Vernon and Sean Carey from Bon Iver on their website that's sure to change that. The 12th in a series of "sessions," the 24-minute-long jam session sees the two playing "Hinnom, TX," "Wash," "I Can't Make You Love Me" (the Bonnie Raitt cover), "Babys," and "Beth/Rest."

This stripped version of Bon Iver, I would argue, is them at their best.

Judge for yourself:

That was really beautiful. I agree with the author, the spareness of the sound with just the two of them makes it even more haunting and ethereal.

The version of Beth/Rest might actually be better than the one on the album, which is already incredible.

Love this music. Incredibly addicting. I also love a man who feels comfortable wearing a pink hoodie (and looks great wearing it).

These two (and the rest of Bon Iver) are just incredibly talented at what they do. It's amazing that so many people hadn't heard of them for so long. I'm just glad you're all getting it now!
