A CBS affiliate in Miami is shedding light on an oft-overlooked segment of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community: homeless LGBT youth.
The heartbreaking segment features profiles of several area youths who were thrown out of their homes after coming out to their parents, as well as local advocates working within that subcommunity.
As the report points out, one fact seems to be fueling the crisis: the average age of someone coming out or questioning their sexuality has dropped dramatically from 18 to 14 years old.
