Michael Jordan's Birthday: Superstar Athlete Turns 49, Plus His Most Memorable Outfits (PHOTOS)

Huffington Post     First Posted: 02/17/2012 10:23 am   Updated: 04/ 9/2012 10:44 am

At some point in time (or even still) we've all wanted to be like Mike.

After all, Michael Jordan is a six time NBA champion, two time Olympic gold medalist, one of the highest earning athletes in history and considered the greatest basketball player of all time. And although he retired from the NBA in 2003 (for the third time), Jordan is still living the dream.

The legendary athlete's Air Jordan sneakers continue to cause small riots, he is still raking in the dough with brand endorsements and he recently popped the question to model Yvette Prieto (she said yes!)

And while Jordan continues to score off the court--he sadly gets no points for personal style.

In fact, there is an entire Tumblr page dedicated to Jordan's fashion faux pas, which include but are not limited to: ripped jeans, zoot suits, suede blazers and anything that's two sizes too big.

In celebration of Jordan's 49th birthday, here's a look at some of his most, er, interesting fashion choices.

The greatest ever...period! You non-basketball folks need to stick to whatever it is that you "do" know and leave b'ball to those who know the sport. Even Kobe will you tell that MJ is the greatest. (Granted...Kobe is the closest to MJ status, very close.)

P.S. If you aren't nearly as old as MJ then you haven't been on earth long enough speak on who the greatest b'ball player is.

(I'm sure I"m going to catch some heat...bring it on. Lol!)

No heat here just my opinion that in team sports there can be no one player that deserves the title "the greatest player of all time" and if that were a possibility then my vote has to go to team leader/captain/coach Bill Russell of the Boston Celtics who led his team to 11 NBA titles as a player, 7 of which are back-to-back, and then 2 times as coach for a total of 13 NBA Rings. While Michael Jordan only has 6 rings, 2 separate 3 back-to-back wins, and no success and certainly no NBA Rings as an NBA coach.

Between Jordan and Russell, Michael has the entertainment/highlight edge hands down. But, if entertainment/high light value was the key to NBA Championships then Allen Iverson and the 76ers would have taken the title several times. In sum, with out Pippen and Rodman, especially, and the other main contributors Michael Jordan would not won any NBA Championships.

For a man with so much money he sure wears crappy clothes. Money alone does not teach you style or class.
