Stacy Hintz, Girl Scout Leader, Removed For 'Wisconsin Sickness' Gothic Website (VIDEOS) (POLL)

Stacy Hintz, a 28-year-old mother from West Bend, Wis., has been removed from her volunteer position as a Girl Scout troop leader because of her connection to her husband's gothic website, Wisconsin Sickness, WDJT TV reports.

The website's about section gives a description of the website's purpose:

Whatever the reason, there is a deep and passionate psychosis that runs through the unstable synapses of those of us from Wisconsin, land of serial killers and cannibals.

And we're proud of it.

Wisconsin Sickness, a Mental Shed project, is all about bringing the independent, underground Wisconsin scene together and spreading the sickness like a virus.

While Hintz recognized that the site is not for everyone, especially children, she told WDJT's Keith Meka that, contrary to accusations from the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast, it doesn't promote "zombie porn."

According to the report, the troop was tipped off after a parent received an email from Hintz which included all her business links -- including Wisconsin Sickness.

Hintz told WTMJ radio she never showed her troop the material on the site, and that she should be evaluated solely on her "completely spotless" performance with the children and not on the "other realm" of her life.

Tracy Wayson, spokesperson for the Southeast Wisconsin Girl Scout branch, told the station that she disagrees, saying that Hintz's personal life seeped into her duties.

"We didn't look into her performance at all...That was not the focus of our fact finding mission," Wayson told WTMJ.

"What we really need to step in on is when those personal activities seep into their role as a Girl Scout volunteer, and in this case, that's what happened."

Last week, Wisconsin Sickness published a blog post rejecting accustations that the site is "evil."

"Wisconsin is responsible for two of the world's most deranged killers and cannibals, driven by repression, intolerance and the sheltered inability to communicate or relate to others. Beer and football are acceptable but art and pursuit of enlightenment are not.

Wisconsin Sickness does not represent an obsession with evil, but is instead a study - an exploration of the collective unconscious through art, film, music and other forms of expression."

Hintz told WDJT that she has been devastated since she was forced to leave her position with the troop.

I think they are letting the backlash they are getting about the Colorado Troop color how they react to things.

Unless the girls complained about (or perhaps discussed) the way her website affected them; as a direct result of her being a troop leader, then it's irrelevant to her performance, or her fitness.

It became a problem the moment that she included the link in a professional email, as it should have been. It's ridiculous that she is surprised that she made other mothers uncomfortable. I think that the only reason that she is making this much noise is for the publicity for the site.

So, her private life is in the dark side... And? It's not like any of that relates to her life as a Girl Scout Leader. Why do people assume that because they are a Goth couple that they shouldn't be around children, that somehow an interest in dark art means that she is going to start raping and killing... There is an adult section of the site - but it requires being a registered member and is clearly off limits to under 18s. I haven't spotted this woman as being one of the Cannibelles herself. The rest of it... I see a belly-dance troupe, some dark paintings but no gallery of sin. Yes, it tends towards the macabre, but having a macabre aesthetic does not equate to being a evil. She should have had the good sense not to include it in the signature of her e-mails, but really, I can see no reason why this woman would make a bad Girl Scout Leader. She is not imposing her private life on the children, and I can see no sign of her being a dangerous woman. I really wish people would stop assuming that because Gothic types like darkness and a bit of gore in our art and entertainment that we're suddenly committing acts of unfathomable evil in our spare time. The real serial killers and mass-murdering mutilating types are generally people who dress perfectly normally and appear to have quite dull interests.

I was a Girl Scout as a girl, then a leader for 8 years when my girls were Scouts, and I feel I did a good job with my own girls as well as others . The sad fact remains that lots of moms are bored, their lives are not filled and instead of volunteering themselves will use an organization like The Girl Scouts to babysit their children after school, and then criticize the person who is giving their own time to help mold these girls. I had to deal with nosey moms, not involved but nosey. women who cared more that I have tattoos than about the things I was helping their daughters learn. I tried to instill individuality in them and yet often their own mothers were my biggest obstacle. I just wanted a way to spend some extra girl time with my daughters,Not to be judged for it. In the long run it worked out, most of the girls are young adults now, many of those same girls attending universities and college,and yes some even have tattoos. It doesnt make them bad people it didnt make me a bad person as for Stacy and what goes on in her life outside Girl Scouts, well, thats just none of our business.I still see some of these young ladies sometimes, not one has ever said to me Ms. Mona your private life really messed me up.

The Girlscouts are an excellent organization, but Stacy is doing her private things in her private life which has nothing to do with her troops. She seems to have a good heart and the girls are lucky to have her volunteering. Some of the video games kids play are 100 times worse than just fantasy Emo stuff. Good luck Stacy, hope you get your troop back!

It never occurred to her that being on her husband's site with sexy pictures of "Cannibelles" and "Zombie Porn Star" sections might somehow affect her work with the Girl Scouts? Come on, lady.

The Girl Scouts set their own rules for this stuff and can send you packing if they wish. You can't really be *that* surprised.

HA at all the comments that say that this is just plain weird! I think you would be surprised by how weird everyone on the planet is, friends, regardless of their political beliefs. People are strange in their private lives, is something they enjoy in their off time really that important to their personal qualities? I have found that it is not. I would be perfectly fine sending my daughter to this woman's troop.

It's pretty weird. I'm far from conservative, but if my daughter, niece, granddaughter were in this woman's troop, I'd be uncomfortable with that website connection. And let's face it: If a Girl Scout leader did something inappropriate, and it turned out later that someone knew there was this type of bizarro-world stuff involved--but did nothing about it--the Huff Post denizens would be screaming for blood.

I was a G.S. leader for years...I had the Cadettes and Older Girl groups and loved it, and finally gave up my troop when my grad school schedule got too heavey. But I always felt - and said at Council Meetings - that G.S. was too damned conservative. Too many leaders spent time making dinky projects and crocheting when they should have been engaging the kids in ecology, first aid, literary and out-of-doors activities. We went camping 3 times a year, had a huge troop for age groups where it'sjust not "cool" to be a G.S. My co-leaders - another ICU nurse and an Army nurse felt as I did. As long as this woman's private preferences do not impinge on troop activities, leave her alone. Council often looked askance at us, but let us be because we were willing to take the older girl groups that no one else wanted, and because the troop had so many members. Be a bit different. Our troop didn't even require uniforms, but we got the real core of Girl Scouting across, not the conservative, prissy nonsense that drives modern girls away.

Who cares what she does in her personal live, but if she's caring for kids, then her personal life either instill confidence or sets off warning flags. I would imaging there are parents who regret trusting Jerry Sardusky.

She should stop fighting the mess of her own creation.

Who cares? Then that should be the standard for everyone that does anything in their personal lives... including Presidential candidates and all other candidates for that are running for a public office.
How many times have their been molestations, murders or theft, because a person background wasn't checked and discovered of those holding positions of power and trust? You read posts and hear people say why was that person there in the first place? Better safe than sorry.

Her HUSBAND, not her, runs that website, she is not an adult model on it, and it is hardly child pornography or fraudulent activity. I cannot see why even if this has been aired that it should stand against her. She is not some psychopath who clearly should have been picked up on, she's a woman in an alternative subculture whose husband has a taste for dark art which she shares. And it's not that dark, or at least I had look at the website and didn't find anything too horrible. Most people have watched far darker horror movies. If you've watched any of the Saw or Hostel movies and enjoyed them, then you've probably got darker tastes than these two. The darkest stuff I've seen is the work of one featured artist working in photo-manipulation, and even that while definitely macabre wasn't enough to turn my stomach. I've seen belly-dancers, a troupe of silent actors doing silent-movie era comedy and a slew of Metal rock bands, but no signs of a truly sick mind or evil nature. It really is about art and self expression and not about how to crucify the neighbours daughter to Satan or whatever else people seem to think this woman is into.

The Girl Scout's organization is dumb. The real serial killers ain't open about "the sickness". They're working as teachers, as health inspectors, as youth ministers at their local church, as political staffers, doctors and engineers. The ones you would never suspect. That's how they get away with it.

Get back to reality people. The one's who are talking about it and the one's doing it are two entirely different subsets of society.
