Faith Inspires: Union Theological Seminary's Poverty Initiative

This week's Faith Inspires highlights the Union Theological Seminary's Poverty Initiative, based in New York City. On a mission to "raise up generations of religious and community leaders committed to building a movement to end poverty," the Poverty Initiative educates destitute community members through its Poverty Scholars Program while organizing poverty-conscious religious leaders through Theological Education courses.

This month, the Poverty Initiative embarked on an extensive book tour for "Pedagogy of the Poor," the latest in a series of anti-poverty publications that seek to empower and uplift community leaders. PI's website is abundant with free faith-based educational resources and its web of partners is truly world wide.
