'It Gets Better' TV Special Featuring Dan Savage: Best Videos In Support Of LGBT Youth

"It Gets Better," the hour-long TV special focusing on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth, makes its highly-anticipated MTV and Logo debut tonightw.

According to Dan Savage, sex advice columnist and co-founder of the It Gets Better project, the emotional program will reportedly focus on the lives of three young people who are at different stages of of coming to terms with their sexual orientation and gender identity.

"The lives of these three young people will resonate with millions of teens -- gay and straight -- who are being bullied for simply being themselves," Savage is quoted as saying in an official statement. "It's so important they know that things get better and that living openly and honestly and being who you are makes it better. They have so many great moments ahead of them and they will do things they never thought possible -- so long as they keep fighting, stay positive, and stay with us."

Watched tonight's episode of GLEE that dealt with bullying and attempted suicide. I was so moved by it, I immediately wrote a check to PFLAG, because I know what a world of good they do helping kids. I also plan to make a donation to The Trevor Project in appreciation of Ryan Murphy for using GLEE to call attention to this subject.

I'll watch with great interest! However, I would push Dan Savage and other in postion of power and influence to get a national hot line for gay youth! They do not have time to search for answers. Questions come instantaneous and the need answers (help) now!!!!

Thanks! Is there just one number? Similar to 911 ? Anyone under stress does not need to look up several different numbers and then make a decison which one is best. By that time it is usually to late. You are right it is a national issue. I've watched our culture change dramaticaly over the last last 6 decades. Most of it in the last decade. great idea, i'm also sending out an e-mail to abc, nbc and cbs and ask if they would air it.

I was very impressed when i saw it last night but my only concern was that it was on at 11pm... most kids who are 14, 15 and 16 years of age, the age we need to target most are generally sleeping at that time especially on a school night.

Wow...the problem my gay-lesbian friends...is that these kids do not know it gets better. Do you remember when? I do!! When my father pulled a shotgun on me and threatened to blow me away! When my friends turned their backs on me when I was suicidal! When people I thought cared did not care any more...!! When the priest just shrugged and said I need to repent and "God" would help me. Oh WTF!
There is, despite what some responders to me have suggested, a place for these kids to go. When you attempt to help you are "recruiting" them to the gay lifestyle. The religious right believes they can pray gay away. M. Bachman's husband thinks he can treat it away.
Then we have a sheriff who resigns as Romney's right hand man in Arizona!! Why? Because he did not want to have the repercussions impact Romney...WTF!!! It was cause he was now out of the closet.
Get it boys and girls....we as gays and lesbians MUST make this better for these kids...we have the clout and the MONEY to make it better. We must find a way...
NOT A SINGLE CHILD MUST DIE AT HIS-HER OWN HAND BECAUSE OF SEXUAL IDENTITY ISSUES UNDER OUR WATCH......
