WATCH: Over 200 Puppies Rescued From Smugglers

More than 200 puppies were rescued by Italian police as they were smuggled in a Hungarian truck across the Italian border, according to the International Business Times. MSNBC reports that Italian police have called the rescue "Operation Bulldog."

In the video above, the puppies are seen packed into crates in the back of a truck.

Police reportedly found 209 puppies under 12-weeks-old being transported in abominable conditions on an Italian highway in the border zone with Austria and Slovenia. The International Business Times reports that 2 Italian nationals are being questioned.

Last week, police discovered more than 200 puppies in a similar smuggling attempt.
