State Trooper Allyson Powell Saves Man From Truck Explosion On Mass. Bridge

State Trooper Rescues Man From Fiery Truck Explosion

When Luis Cotto, 42, of Taunton, Mass., lost control of his tractor truck on a bridge early Sunday, the vehicle burst into flames.

Fast-acting State Trooper Allyson Powell raced to the scene, dragging Cotto away from the flames, ultimately saving the man's life, ABC reports.

"Trooper Powell observed the vehicle to be fully engulfed in flames," State Police spokesman David Procopio told the news source. "The operator was outside the vehicle, slumped over the Jersey barrier. She was able to drag him away from the scene, and away from the fire at that time."

The bridge endured serious damage and is being repaired, while Cotto was taken to a hospital where he, too, was being treated for injury, ABC reports.
