TV Question Time: If You Have Tube Queries, Share Them Here

It's been a while, but let's get back to one of my favorite regular features: Ask Mo.

Here's the deal: You ask TV-related questions in the comment area of this post (or ask via email or Twitter), and in an upcoming column, I'll attempt to answer as many of your questions as I can.

Feel free to ask big-picture queries along these lines: What did I think of Season 2 of "Downton Abbey"? What's a new genre show I can recommend? Is it worth sticking with David Milch's "Luck"? (But you can steer clear of those exact questions, which I recently answered here, here and here.)

Or your questions can touch on recent TV news, trends or even scheduling matters (i.e., When does "Community" return? Hooray, I can already answer that -- the Human Beings return March 15).

By the way, if you're hoping that I'm one the TV writers that closely follows pilot development and casting, I should let you know up front that I'm not. So if you're question is about pilot season, which is going on in the TV industry right now, I wanted to let you know up front that I probably am not a good person to ask about those matters. Once shows have been picked up and are definitely going to air, that's when I begin paying attention to pilots, for the most part.

But please, hit me with other TV queries, if you care to. If you've had a TV question on your mind, leave it here, and I'll try to take on as many questions as I can in my next Ask Mo column.

Thanks!

Ryan and Ryan podcasts where are you?

Linda Holmes column about Liz Lemon and her dissatisfaction with the way the character has gone has me wondering about your take not just on Liz Lemon but on women characters in general. What shows do really well by their women? Why does a show like Justified do well by Mags Bennett and even the woman from Coal Company who negotiated with Mags last season, but defines their ongoing female characters like Winona and Ava solely by their relationships with the men in their lives?

Why do so many tv shows have foreign actors playing Americans? True blood, walking dead, nip tuck, house to name a few. I suspect it is for marketing in foreign countries.

Hi Mo,

Long time reader, love the podcast (when I can stomach "negative-nancy McGee"). What will it take for your Huff-Post bosses to have you review Spartacus, Lost Girl, and Fringe on a weekly basis? And will you at least get the weekly Game Of Thrones gig?

Also, do you think MAD MEN's long hiatus has cost it the cultural initiative? I should be bugnuts for it coming back, but I'm not. Think that first new hour will snap us all back into place as fans? Or will they have to work at it to draw back their audience?

Thx,
D

Do you see Netflix as a medium that will draw large audiences to original programming?

Why does it take so long for Sherlock season 2 to be released in the U.S.? I know it came out in the U.K. already, but isn't scheduled to be released here until May, why is that?

Is there an under the radar show that you watch that isn't talked about much, but you really enjoy? For example I absolutely love TNT's Leverage, but notice it is never talked about on any TV site.

Hi Mo! I was wondering what your take was on "Awake" with Jason Isaacs (if you've seen it?)

Do you think that you will ever go back to reviewing Supernatural? The latest episodes since Death's Door have been a lot better. I know you said you would keep watching as a fan, but I miss seeing reading your professional thoughts about the series.

I listen to NPR's weekly Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast and they sometimes do a segment on "pop culture comfort food". (That is some form of pop culture that feels nostalgic or sentimental) If you had a TV comfort food, what would it be and why?

Why after all this time has "Mad Men" yet to address THE issue of the 60s- civil rights? Sterling Cooper has yet to be integrated, and there WERE black admen on Madison Avenue in the 60s! The show's creators are showing themselves to be wilfully ingnorant of reality!!

Mo,
Ever since you moved to Huff Post you no longer do your recap articles of shows like Justified etc,,, Are you not allowed to? I really miss them. Bring them back!

Have you seen the new Style organizing show The Amandas? It's more inline with How Do I Look and Bill and Guliana and not Jersylicious. Is this going to be there new Clean House? Is this the first season or am I out of the loop?

i was just wondering what your take on the networks seemingly scheduling more new shows during the mid-season, all with shorter episode orders? it is nice that these shows get to be seen during the season instead of just burned off in the summer, however is 6-8 episodes for new/upcoming shows like the River, Scandal, BFF, and Bent really enough for any viewers to catch on? it really seems like why would they bother picking up a show like Bent to just air it for 3 weeks in one of the most competitive slots, showing very little faith in the show (though it is NBC...) and constantly swapping around time slots (like moving Parks & Rec or ABC ending Happy Endings early for Apt. 23) surely doesnt help a show build or even maintain an audience. Overall i suppose it is nice to have a new show like Alcatraz on, even if it wont be renewed, instead of just House reruns...
