Bruce Beresford-Redman

The former "Survivor" producer accused of murdering his wife in Mexico is speaking out for the first time, maintaining his innocence in a television interview.

According to CBS News, Bruce Beresford-Redman spoke with "48 Hours Mystery" via cell phone from a jail cell in Cancun where he is awaiting trial.

"Everyone seems to have decided a long time ago that I killed my wife," Beresford-Redman told the program. "I didn't kill my wife, I really didn't."

TV Guide reports that Beresford-Redman also said there are "no facts" to support claims that he killed his wife.

The interview will air Saturday, Feb. 25 on CBS.

Beresford-Redman became a suspect in the murder of the body of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, was found in a sewer near a Cancun resort where their family was staying 2010. Earlier this month, a Mexican judge ordered Beresford-Redman to stand trial.

As for why Beresford-Redman is just now deciding to speak publicly, TMZ previously cited unnamed sources in a report alleging he has been willing to give an interview, but only if the price was right.

The Moon Palace, where this occured, is about 25 minutes south of Cancun. It is a humongus, sprawling complex, over many acres. It is in a jungle-like location & very isolated. This surely could have happen there with NO ONE seeing or hearing anything........

"Everyone seems to have decided a long time ago that I killed my wife," Beresford-Redman told the program. "I didn't kill my wife, I really didn't."

You know most people can't get the 6th commdanment rigth, 99.999% will say, Thou shall not kill when it's really "Thou shall not murder. (Exodus 20:13)

He's right, he didn't kill his wife. He murdered her due to an uncontrollable a rage over money. He didn't really care much for his children; makes him look better in the public's eye but its his money that he truly worships.

You know the story, 'I didn't do it. You've got the wrong man. I'm innocent." He's guilty.

I'll be the house she said these fatal words, "I'm going to take you for everything you've got!" She was foolish.

If you don't want to be found in a suitcase or sewer, never say that to a successful man. Take the fair settlement and get to steppin.

I understand everyone loves someone to hate and sensational Hollywood stories are so much fun. But that's no excuse for a complete lack of journalism 101. The LATimes reported Beresford wanted to be interviewed and offered to take a polygraph for months but the Twin Towers Warden would not let him speak to the press. I knew these people a little, and the first thing that made me say "WTF?" was the victim's sisters claiming she would never leave her children alone, when in fact she owned a nightclub and was there most evenings (and I'm not saying the fact she liked to party made her a bad mother), and like most "power" couples had nannies all the time. The hotel claims a report that a woman was being attacked, but sent no one to check?! Lots of bad reporting, including no questioning of the hotel and Mexican government's touri$m motive to cover up the ridiculous number of tourists that have been murdered in the area. Meanwhile the sisters have been fighting to get the kids (and their family money) and the ownership of the restaurant but are treated like infallible saints? There is no physical evidence, and no one can explain how he could have possibly murdered his wife IN THE ROOM WITH HIS CHILDREN (the daughter has testified her mother left in the morning as he says) and then transported the body through the hotel and 300' across a courtyard surrounded with hotel room windows.

I find this whole incident unusual. We do not know anything. The crime happened in Mexico. He has no "rights" to give interviews and they are rarely given to prisoners so him not being able to give one isn't a big deal. We may never hear the evidence against him and I don't care what he has to say, he can save it for court. Uncontested "testimony" (interviews) is spin and worthless and only feeds the salacious desires of those interested in the "dirty details" IMO.

I agree, but that applies to the sisters who have been interviewed over and over spouting easily disputed spin as fact as they try to get their hands on the family money and business. Twin Towers is the prison in Los Angeles where he was held pending extradition, and I mentioned his willingness for an interview because this "story" wrongly claims he was not previously interviewed because he wanted to get paid for it!

If the "dirty details" are that Mexico is a very unsafe place to travel, and their very corrupt government is trying to cover it up by accusing innocent Americans, then there is a good reason for some decent journalism here.
04:03 PM on 02/24/2012
Wow, he's accused of the murder of the body of his wife, not actually his wife, just the body. That makes sense. Could this have been written any more poorly?
02:22 PM on 02/24/2012
This man was initially felt that passion for his wife but never loved, that love does not hurt.

In Mexico, they don't lock you up without proof, adn they do not treat you with kid gloves like here in America! They are not afraid of getting the truth of you. Think about all the cold blooded murderers in America, who went to their graves without disclosing where their victims bodies were as a last blow to the victim's family. I am not saying let's torture suspects in America, but how a little truth serum to get them to spill their rotten guts?

Yeah, I said it...so what?!

Agreed. Let's just cut to the chase.
09:20 PM on 02/24/2012
You are obviously not a believer in OUR system of justice. Two items to think about before you start injecting the truth serum. 1. O.J. Simpson 2. Casey Anthony. They were both found"Not Guilty" in our system and are free. Even though we all know they are guilty as hell. But I wouldn't want any other sytem of justice for myself. They will get theirs in the end. Just ask Jordan VanderSlooth and OJ.

Doesn't seem sincere. he can say he didn't murder his wife but I he sure as hell is a suspect
