'Mudcats': Marion Races Against The Clock In Hometown Tournament (VIDEO)

Catching a fish by hand is no easy task, and doing it with the added pressure of competition is even more daunting. But that was the task before Marion Kincaid and his partner Mark on the latest installment of "Mudcats" (Thu., 10 p.m. EST on History). With the tournament on the line and the fish literally within arm's reach, Marion knew he needed to act fast and cleverly to get his hands on a catch.

His explanation of the task before them was simple enough. "We're gonna tie another rope on the end of this stringer and we're gonna put it on the end of this stick and Mark's gonna hold it back there as far as he can and I'll swim in that other end and come in and get this stick and I can try to get him out that other end."

Sounds easy enough, right? There's actually quite an art to handfishing, and Marion's years of experience and practice paid off big time. He managed to finesse the fish just as he'd expected, and wrestled it into submission underwater. Once he came up, it was clear why the fish was such a struggle.

He had a whopping 56 pound flathead catfish in his arms, and just in time. Even better, it proved enough to win the tournament. Sometimes a good strategy, good teamwork and patience is what wins out in the end.
