Sacha Baron Cohen Oscar Ban: Admiral General Aladeen Responds After Academy Award Tickets Revoked (VIDEO)

How many pun-filled dictator jokes can Sacha Baron Cohen fit in a minute-and-a-half video? A lot, apparently.

After rumors surfaced that Cohen was banned from walking this year's Oscars red carpet dressed as Admiral General Aladeen -- the satirical despotic character from his upcoming movie "The Dictator" -- the Academy Awards released a statement claiming that no such decision had been made regarding the star's tickets. (He is -- was? -- originally coming to this year's show in support of his role in Best Picture nominee "Hugo.")

Whatever the Academy's decision, however, it was only a matter of time before Cohen General Aladeen responded to the "ban." Obviously, he was not pleased.

"On behalf of the nation of Wadiya, I am outraged at being banned from the Oscars by the Academy of Motion Pictures of Arts and Zionists," exclaimed Aladeen. "While I applaud the Academy from taking away my right to free speech, I warn you that if you do not lift your sanctions and give me my tickets back by 12 p.m. on Sunday, you will face unimaginable consequences."

Aladeen also makes an effort to campaign for some of Wadiya's "classic" films that didn't receive any Oscar recognition: "When Harry Kidnapped Sally," "You've Got Mailbomb" and "Planet of the Rapes." (Actually, there's a good chance that second one is better than the original Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan flick.)

Anyway, whether Aladeen's consequences refer to him kidnapping Uggie (please, no) remain to be seen. Whatever the case, both Cohen and Aladeen are getting a nice chunk of publicity out of this whole thing.

"The Dictator," starring Cohen and Ben Kingsley, will hit theaters May 11.

Can you imagine if everyone walks the Red Carpet in "character". We could have the Walking Dead people, Viola & Octavia dressed as maids, George in flip-flops, Meryl in a Thatcher wig, Brad, well Brad can George can wear what ever they want. This is stupid and his movies (watched 1/2 of one) are horrible.

This just gives me one more reason not to watch The Oscars tonight. The other reasons: they have already basically told us who is going to win: The Artist, Viola Davis, Octavia Spenser...there is nothing exciting about it when you already know who's gonna win. I'll just visit HP web tomorrow to "judge" the dresses. Most woman just watch to see the fashion anyway. We love to say "wow, she looks great in that dress...or "wow, what was she thinking" about their choice of dresses.
With dozens of award shows going on for the last 3 months, Oscar's has really become "anti-climatic". Rarely, if ever, any surprises in store for the viewer on the winners. And that Sasha guy should be ashamed of himself in the role of a dictator...has he glanced at the news lately to the murders going on in N. Africa at the hands of dictators? He should use his celebrity to go over there and help those people being killed. All he is doing is making a joke out of murderers. It's just not funny.

I didn't expect to like Borat, but found it hilarious, the next movie not so much. This one looks funny though, and as for the oscars? Cry about it you fossils. All this loser wants to do is sit in the audience! Don't put a camers on him. Easy. Take away the guys ticket?????? That's even lower class than Sacha's sense of humour.

I found Ali G, Borat, and Bruno all very funny, but it's starting to feel like he's striking the same note again and again with increasingly less humor. It's time for Cohen to step away from the "shocking" caricature comedy and become more clever (certainly he's capable) and less confrontational... For him to show up at the Oscars in character is more sad than interesting; it feels a little desperate rather than bold.

You ain’t seen brilliant: For his next film and character he should dress up as an Isrli soldier manning a bulldozer and plow through a few Palestinian homes and then man a checkpoint where he gets to humiliate and demean M…slims all day long!
