Mutiny On The Wild Ranger Doesn't Go As Planned On 'Bering Sea Gold' (VIDEO)

'Bering Sea Gold': Mutiny On The Wild Ranger

Unless the entire crew backs the play, it's usually not a good idea to start calling out the captain of any vessel. Luckily for Steve, they were still on dry ground when he laid into the captain of the Wild Ranger, Scott on "Bering Sea Gold" (Fri., 10 p.m. EST on Discovery). Otherwise, he may well have found himself thrown overboard. He certainly made Scott angry enough.

"You couldn't captaincy your way out of a wet paper bag. You've made so many illegitimate mistakes, repetitively," he told Scott. "Make the same mistakes over and over again. You can't set an anchor worth a damn ... " While everything Steve was saying was generally true, it was certainly not the best way to call into question Scott's temper issues and lack of strong leadership.

It may have been as much Steve's dismissive tone as anything else that set Scott off. When Scott told him the conversation was over, Steve proceeded to rudely dismiss him. "Okay, you may leave now," Steve said with a wave of his hand. "Leave my presence. Get out of here."

At this, Scott tried to throw him out of the trailer and off of the ship entirely, but Steve said he would only take those words from Vern -- the money-man behind the operation. So after kicking and punching a few things to try and calm down, Scott got Verne on the line and Steve out of his trailer. Sometimes being right just isn't enough. Especially since it's Scott's boat. He can kind of captain however he wants, even if it's not very good.

Of course, Scott kind of screwed himself over as well, as he's now down two a two-man crew, and it takes at least three to run everything. To make matters worse, their gold haul for the episode was by far the worst of the ships at only $400. Not a good week for the Wild Ranger.

"Bering Sea Gold" continues on Fridays at 10 p.m. EST on Discovery.
