The website is also compiling a complete list of losers.

It may take a while though, as they are still trying to get the names of everyone that watched the show...

What is "The Artist"? Who's in it? I feel so lost....

"The Artist" is a silent black and white film, set in the late 1920s, about the transition from silent films to talkies. Its stars are Jean Dujardin, a French actor, and Berenice Bejo, an Argentinian actor. It is quite possibly the best movie I've ever seen. There are less than 10 words in the entire film, yet it's just so emotionally... wow.
No wonder you feel so lost - it hasn't been widely released.

From everything I've heard, "The Artist" seems like the biggest Oscar bait on the planet. However, I admit I haven't seen it yet, so can't judge it.

I definently plan on watching it now though.

Also...Rango won an Oscar?

I know that I am going to sound like a extreme right guy here but, I got to put it out there. What ever happen when foreign films were all judge together and given an Oscar and the American Oscar were given to an American Film, American Director and or Actor/Actress?

Not saying that the Artist was not good or that did not deserve an Oscar. I am saying is The American Academy Awards (The Oscars) should be given to any of the American Directors and any of the American Films, with special dispensation and an Oscar for Best foreign Film. I know Iran got the Oscar but why is it that the Artist was not competing against A Separation?

Summary; Who won the American Oscar for best director for 2011? a French guy, who won the American Oscar for best film for 2011? a French movie, who won the American Oscar for best Actor? a French guy.
I am not anti whatever, I like the French plenty .. well enough said.

Not sure, but you seems to have a beef with the french. guy.

No, not really, I just think that an American award should be given to an American movie and actor and or director and then I am ok with having a separate award for foreign movies.

If not then the Oscars are just like the Golden Globes all thrown in together. Which is ok because that is the type of award they are. Going in you know that your competion is international. Don't know if I am explaining myself well enough. In any case is done and I have no influence or voice in the matter.

Thank goodness I was wrong. You can see how closely I pay attention to these things... :)

I truly felt that Martin Scorsese deserved the Best Director award....I was so sad he didn't. I loved The Artist...but "Hugo" was the best. It made you remember why you love film, how beautiful and special it really is, and how lucky we are to be watching films today. It was historic, majestic, and epic. A wonderful job for Scorsese's first family film. If you saw it in 3d...you will understand why it won so much. Sorry Scorsese you were robbed.
So was Andy Serkis...who deserved at least a nomination for "Caesar" in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Even though his character was CGI-the eyes, the face, the movements....all him. The film would not have been half as realistic or moving without him. One hell of a performance.
