Joe Scarborough predicted that Rick Santorum would "win big" in Tuesday night's voting in the Michigan Republican primary.

After a segment spent lamenting the hard-right rhetorical drift of the GOP, Scarborough interrupted Mika Brzezinski, who was teasing the show's next block of guests.

"Wait, why don't we do a quick prediction?" Scarborough said. He asked the panel to say who they thought would win the Michigan primary. Romney and Santorum are neck-and-neck in the state, and experts such as the New York Times' Nate Silver have dubbed the fight "too close to call."

"I'll go with Romney," Brzezinski said. "I think Romney's probably going to pull it out," guest John Heilemann added.

Mark Halperin and Willie Geist guessed Santorum. Scarborough wondered how many early votes Romney had received so far. Halperin said that he hadn't won enough to put him over the top.

"I think Santorum's going to win big today," Scarborough said, though he stopped just short of saying he thought Santorum would win outright.

"Satan has his sights on the United States of America," Rick Santorum claimed in a 2008 speech. "This is a spiritual war. And the Father of Lies has his sights on what you would think the Father of Lies would have his sights on: a good, decent, powerful, influential country - the United States of America. If you were Satan, who would you attack in this day and age? There is no one else to go after other than the United States and that has been the case now for almost 200 years, once America's preeminence was sown by our great Founding Fathers."

Santorum has since defended the speech, telling CNN, "I'm a person of faith. I believe in good and evil. I think if somehow or another because you're a person of faith you believe in good and evil is a disqualifier for president, we're going to have a very small pool of candidates who can run for president."

What I would like to know is why this self-centered aging 'frat-rat' continues to be on MSNBC...?

When is he ever right?

If I had a nickle for every time Scarborough was right....I'd have 5 cents.

At least this time he let everyone have a say in it. How unusual for him, must have had a bad nights sleep and wasn't thinking clearly.

Mika must get paid quite a bit to sit there and be his 'silent partner' all this time. Either that or she has zero self esteem and expects to be treated as an air head so it comes as no shock that he does it. I can't see why her dad or husband doesn't take him out back and have a "come to Jesus or else" meeting with him about it.

And Joe your prediction was WRONG AGAIN! I guess your lengthy political career doesn't make you right about everything. Now maybe MSNBC will put a muzzle on Scarborough's mouth. He should stick to bragging where nobody knows what he is talking about. Most of the time he is so busy tooting his own horn I keep waiting for him to blow his brains out!

How much are they paying you, Joe? . . . How does one get a job where you just make stuff up and get to blather on about the inanities of politics for a couple of hours a day?

How to call 'em. Brainiac.

Geesh.

Amazed Joe gave the others time to voice their predictions.

linnwood;
Spot on post. Since his guests rarely get the chance to voice an opinion. I see that problem
constantly no matter who the guest is!

I'm sure when he made his bold prediction he was talking over his guests. I no longer watch the show because of him and Mika's milk toast responses to his nonsense.
