New York Snow And Freezing Rain Predicted For Wednesday

Snow Headed For New York Wednesday!

After months of unseasonably warm temperatures, the tri-state area is gearing up for a wintry mess of heavy snow and freezing rain on Wednesday.

3 to 5 inches are expected to fall in the area just above the city, Connecticut, and New England before noon and continue throughout the evening. As for the city, the mix will most likely shift to rain in the early afternoon hours.

Meteorologist Tim Morrin detailed, "For folks traveling into the interior, into the Hudson Valley, we are expecting the snow and sleet to last longer. For the city, not a nice day for sure but we are not expecting any kind of accumulation on roadways at least.”

As of Saturday, only 7.4 inches of snow has fallen in Central Park, compared to the 60 inches the city was pelted with last year.

Mayor Bloomberg received all-time low ratings for his slow response to 2010's winter storm that left many New Yorkers stranded, without proper medical attention, and blockaded streets.

Bloomberg later confessed that the city's response to the blizzard was indeed "inadequate and unacceptable."
