Brian Wilson To Partner With Lucky Strike Bowling In San Francisco

Brian Wilson can make anything sexy: facial hair, towel ripping, chalupas. And now, bowling.

Next Friday, bowling chain Lucky Strike will open its first San Francisco location across the street from AT&T Park -- with the Giants pitcher as a partner. The alley will even name a lane in the star closer's honor.

"I am pumped to be in the Lucky Strike mix and am honored that lane 12 will be renamed lane 38," said Wilson about the partnership. "I love that number, and I expect to roll many massive strikes on that lane. See you there. The Dude abides."

According to reports, Lucky Strike won't be a typical bowling alley. The 21-and-up spot will feature touches like a 40-foot bar with reclaimed wooden beams, vintage leather sofas, antique chessboards, a photo booth, and a lounge space to dress up the place. Oversized projection screens will feature local artwork on the walls.

Critics have already voiced concerns about Lucky Strike's "SoCal" reputation, but CEO and co-owner Steven Foster disputed the claims.

"Lucky Strike is a complete social entertainment experience focused on creating positive, joyful and infectious energy, and there is not a more fitting place for this than San Francisco," said Foster in a release. Staying true to The Dude, Foster even pointed out that he was a Haight Ashbury street performer in the 1960s, and studied transcendental meditation in Berkeley.

Lucky Strike may be a little SoCal for some, but with a sushi bar, L'Artisan macaroons, Gruyere fondue and green chili burgers on the menu, we're not complaining. They've even got homemade Belgian fries with housemade curry ketchup sauce.
