DSCC Ad Features Democratic Female Senate Candidates, Hits Republicans For 'War On Women'

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is taking advantage of the controversy over contraception and women's health issues to feature its female office-seekers.

A new ad from the DSCC accuses male Republican candidates for Senate of perpetrating an "assault on women's health and freedom" and focusing on social rather than economic issues.

"It's time to end the culture wars and get to work for the middle class. Time to elect more women to the U.S. Senate," a female narrator says, followed by clips of 11 female Democratic challengers and incumbents up for reelection endorsing the ad.

"Send a Democratic woman to the Senate," the commercial's text reads under portraits of the women. "Send them all."

Watch the ad:

A recent spotlight on gender issues -- including an all-male hearing on birth control and a number of hotly-contested state abortion bills -- has provided a fundraising boost to Democrats and the pro-Democratic women PAC Emily's List.

The Republican Party has only five female senators, two of whom -- Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) -- are retiring. Republicans have at least three women Senate candidates who are expected to be their party's nominee or have strong leads in their respective primary races.

fyi; Over the past two years the GOP-controlled House of Representatives has launched one of the most extreme assaults on women's choice the U.S. has seen in decades. Republicans voted twice to slash federal family planning funds for low-income women, moved to prevent women from using their own money to buy insurance plans that cover abortion, introduced legislation that would force women to have  Read More...

The article is about anti-women bills and the GOP bots try to change the subject to Gas prices, nice try!
GOP wants sharia law on women, what do you think about that?

obama has declared war on America with his love of high gas prices. He just simply loves it.

Chu, along with the Obama administration, regards the spike in gas prices as a feature rather than a bug. High gas prices provide an incentive for alternate energy technology, a priority for the White House, and a decrease in reliance on oil for energy.

Wow. It doesn't get any better than this, except we have to SUFFER with the high gas prices that the obama regime is featuring.

Ridiculous, pray tell how exactly does the President control gas prices?

It's speculative commodity trading responsible for the spike. Take it to them.

Well like Colbert said he has a direct line to Saudi....a little charm, fedex some California wine and I'm sure the prices would just drop like a rock! =)

Once again I say repubs are not really trying to win the white house, why would any sane politician want to have the largest voting block (women) angry at them? I see a supreme court case, with women winning on this issue in our future. Face it guys when it comes to probing women, No means no!

The Republican party's primary concern is the rollback of the reproductive rights of American women. Clearly they thought we'd be an easy target. They were wrong.

On a state and national level, women have no choice but to vote out all Republicans in November.

Republicans suffer collectively from "womb envy." Their deep seated fear and loathing of women (and yes, there are women who self-loathe) has brought out the worst in possible legislation from imposing severe restrictions on a woman's ability to obtain an abortion, penalizing self-abortions, personhood bills, to trying to restrict women's access to contraceptives. It seems that the only women good enough for Republicans to acknowledge are those women who, lacking the ability for independent thought, prefer to be ruled by men. They are doormats, barefoot and pregnant. And that, unfortunately, is the pipe dream the Republican Party is using to build a whole political platform on even at the risk of losing the November elections.

According to the 2012 Census;

157 million women
151.8 males

Women it is time for our voices to be heard !!!!

We are the majority !!!!

Don't vote against the best interests of your gender.

There is corruption on both sides of the aisle, but Dems are not attacking the rights of women !!!

The GOP will be shocked to realize that the culture wars will look different from in the past. Why? Because when they decide to address womens issues, women will not sit by and be silent. In the past women weren't in the room - heck they weren't even in the building.

Now it will be pretty difficult to pass something that you require her vote to accomplish. The GOP may do well to stop and think long and hard about their entire way of life.

Great ad! Yes, we will send them all.

The women are uniting and are outraged about the recent wars being waged against women's rights by conservative male republicans.

This will be the year women finally unite and ote the male bums out.

And hopefully, men will support us in this effort.

I'm beginning to think these culture war GOP members bringing all these outrageous bills are simply afraid of women. It's the only think that makes sense. It's not a matter of faith as these people often support the death penalty and say the most outrageous, un-Christian things. So it must be fear that drives them. Did the girl they liked in school reject them? Are they so inadequate that the only way to feel good about themselves is to debase women? something going on here....

let's just say it clearly: religion is taking over America and trying to make it more conservative than Islam. The Ayatollah dismantled family planning clinics in Iran in the 1980s but Reagan didn't do that here. It's conservative men in the U.S. and Middle East that want to go to war with each other. Why can't Democrats just plainly point this out? Do we want religion taking over the government as it did in Iran in the 1980s? Will we ever learn from history?
