Gary Harris Buzzer Beater: Hamilton Southeastern Stuns North Central (VIDEO)

Gary Harris Buzzer Beater
Gary Harris' buzzer beater lifted Hamilton Southeastern over North Central.

Is it just me or has there been an unusual amount of buzzer beaters over the last few weeks? There were a couple in the NBA last week with the Timberwolves and Grizzlies. George Mason shocked VCU with a buzzer beating 3-pointer on Valentines Day. There was even one from nearly full court. On Tuesday night, Gary Harris of Class 4A No. 1 Hamilton Southeastern continued the trend in a Sectional 8 first-round game of the Indiana State Playoffs against No. 3 North Central.

In the final 10 seconds, Harris did just about everything he could do to get his side the win. First, he knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 83. Then the Michigan State recruit made a great defensive play and forced a tie up to get the ball back for Hamilton Southeastern. Then, with 4.6 seconds left in the game, Harris got the inbound pass near half court, made a spin move and launched a 3-pointer.

In. Game over. Time to rush the court. The only thing Harris seemingly forgot to do was call the bank shot.

"I leaned after I shot it and thought it was going in. It felt good," Harris told Kyle Neddenriep of IndyStar.com.

Watch the video above and scroll down for other amazing angles of the shot.

The best one I ever saw was Jeremy Lin's buzzer beater against William and Mary when he was at Harvard. He had 3 seconds to go full court, dribbled by two defenders, was fouled from near the half court and hit an off balance 3 before falling on to his back to win by 1. It's on YouTube.

Here is one from this past Monday night. Although not a HS, college, or pro game, it's still monumental for this young man!

Stay off the floor! Good luck with that one.

"Please stay off the floor", that's the best part of these videos

That's the twilight zone for a defender. You can't foul but you need to play tight enough defense not to let him get off a good shot. It seems like this kid was right on top of the shooter but he still nailed it. That's what makes basketball an exciting game, that one unknown if someone can get it done in the clutch..

Good for him !! If he lives to be 100, he'll always remember that day

Looks like they didn't follow directions and "stay off the floor"...actually looked dangerous so many people running so fast on the floor. Mayhem.......quasi-riot........

Sad there's so much excitement about basketball, but ask these people to discuss and argue how Keynesian policies have failed our country........and boredom might set in.

Unnnnh, how about every day? This wasn't even close to half court. It was a long three pointer but well inside the half court line. For a high school basketball game to produce 168 points in regulation is almost unheard of. It is virtually impossible to do that unless two run and gun teams play no defense and simply shoot. That would seem to be the case

uh...you're obviously not from Indiana or you live under a rock. 168 pts is pretty typical for an Indiana basketball game.
