'Everyone Gives' Makes Donations And Involvement Multiply

'Everyone Gives,' Donation Website, Makes Charity Multiply

A new donation site is giving way to viral generosity -- while also yielding more bang for your charitable buck.

Everyone Gives enables people around the world to connect to charities of their choice, while inviting and inspiring their networks to do the same.

Each initial donation increases as more people get involved, with 100 percent of donations going to the cause, the website explains.

"This isn't another one-off charity donation," Doug Frye, CEO of Colliers International, one of the campaign's sponsors, told the Memphis Business Journal. "This is about enabling individuals to engage their personal connections to give more to the charities they are passionate about, and watch as the power of one donation multiplies."

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is also on board. His charity the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, is a participating organization. The Foundation works to improve understanding and communication of different world religions.

"One gift becomes five," Blair said on the site. "Five becomes 25. Twenty-five turns into hundreds. As your giving goes viral, you can actually see your donation multiply on the Everyone Gives website."

As of Wednesday, the seven-day-old site has raised $458,020, engaging 9,047 participants in 60 countries with 1,343 different charities.
