Joe Scarborough: Rick Santorum 'Blew His Chance' At GOP Nomination (VIDEO)

WATCH: Scarborough's Bold GOP Prediction

Joe Scarborough shot down Rick Santorum's rhetoric on Thursday's "Morning Joe," putting the candidate's prospects for winning the GOP nomination at zero.

Santorum and Mitt Romney evenly split Michigan's 30 delegates after Tuesday night's primary. The "Morning Joe" panel replayed a clip of Santorum proclaiming the tie -- in the state where Romney's father was once governor -- a victory for his campaign.

On Thursday, Scarborough said that he would be saying the same thing in Santorum's place, but flat-out said that the candidate was a goner.

"It's over," Scarborough declared. "If Santorum had beaten Romney in Michigan, it would have shaken the race up to such a degree that I think it could have given him a charge."

Scarborough continued to say that Santorum "blew his chance," and elaborated. "I hate to upset people, but the fact is Romney has all the built in advantages, [Santorum] had one chance to take him down and he blew it," he concluded.

Scarborough had predicted that Santorum would win Michigan. After the primary, however, he said that the candidate "blew himself up" by making controversial statements, and believes the Republican base will finally rally around Romney.

The MSNBC host isn't completely enthusiastic about Romney though. He remarked that the show has been discussing "how flawed this Republican field is" for months. He wanted to know what Romney's nomination despite his "gaffes" and "stiffness" would mean for the general election against Obama.

"It says that if we're looking at the menu and it's choice A or choice B, people don't want either frankly," contributor Donny Deutsch said.
