Tami Roman Talks 'Basketball Wives,' Divorce, Anger Management

While their husbands fight it out on the basketball court, VH1's "Basketball Wives" know how to play dirty off court. No one understands that better than Tami Roman, star of the hit reality show.

"I have been known to pop a bitch or two, but I'm in total control of my anger management issues now," Tami tells me on the set of my HDNet talk show, "Naughty But Nice."

"You've got a lot of great things, lots of great material things, great lifestyle when you are a basketball wife," she says. "The relationship is where it lacks. I was that wife that had her blinders on. ... It wasn't until it just got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore."

Noting her surprise that Kobe Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, are reportedly getting back together, Tami says she wouldn’t have taken him back, but admits you can't tell anyone whom to love.

"I felt like I didn’t have choices," Tami says about her ex, Kenny Anderson. "What am I going to do now? Job? You're dependent on him. At the time we got divorced, he had signed a $60 million contract. We had a prenup, so I walked away with nothing. It's been really hard, and I've been vocal about him not paying child support. But I feel like it is a testament to others out there and to my daughters that there are strong women out there. Everything for them I have paid for."

I understand people being responsible and paying for their kids but exactly how does she think she is entitled to his money? I don't recall ever seeing her running up and down the court making shots and I'm pretty sure when he was out there making 60 million dollars she was sitting at home not working ,spending it. I've seen her on her show and he should get whatever they pay war veterans for being married to her. I don't believe in alimony. You leave with what you came with or what you made yourself durring the marriage but no free rides for life. Child support is a different issue

Tami is the trashest one on the program. Anager Management is not working. Last nights episode was absolutely stomach turning. I have been a fan of Basketball from day one but after watching last night's (5/15) episode I will be encouraging everyone to stop watching. The way Tami bullied that poor woman was disgusting and very, very hard to watch. She knew the woman was afraid of her which gave her more and more power to continue to bullie her. I will definetely be campaigning to have the program taken off TV. It was disgusting.

I don't understand these men help make these children and just walk away when the marriage is over, How were they raised? I don't care Prenup or not those are still your children they are still a part of each of you. It's sad when us women have to do all the hard work and then the man or should I say sperm donor expect respect and love from his children. I DON'T THINK SO. I say to hell with that part of your life and when your girls make it in this world and their father can no longer take care of himself, tell him to go back to who has been taking care of him all these years and DON'T GIVE HIM A DIME OF YOUR MONEY.

All that bitterness, anger and resentment aint gonna do nothin but eat YOU up, and harm the kids. Get off that ANGRY WOMAN crap. No matter how YOU feel, children need a relationship with THEIR FATHER, and if you stand in the way of that THEY WILL RESENT YOU. So YOU gonna hurt your kids so you can get even with their father. YOU picked that man. THEY DIDN'T. Grow up, child. Get over it and YOU DO THE RIGHT THING, no matter what anybody else does.

Hmmm...okay Tammi. If I recall, Tammi was the co-author of the Golddigger Handbook and walked down the aisle to marry Kenny Anderson in her last trimester.

How she didn't lock up child support for her child and future children with Kenny before walking down the aisle pregnant defies logic or Tammi is not as tough as she would like us to view her.

Tami didn't "walk away" from 60 million as the original title said. She
got kicked to the curb with nothing because of a prenup. Now she's
"keeping it real" on Basketball Wives...meanwhile she is no longer a
B-Ball wife. To top it off her ex is a deadbeat dad who doesn't even
pay for child support.

I used to be a big basketball fan, but the new generation of players, ushered in by the Jordan era, turned me off. I don't follow the sport anymore. I just googled Kenny Anderson and discovered that he retired broke. This is what happens when you come out of college in 2 years. This is what happens when you mindlessly procreate. My young grandnieces, their mother, and quite a few people I know are addicted to Basketball Wives. I can't even get through an entire program. Do young women honestly believe they will be young and attractive forever? That there aren't boatloads of younger and younger women landing on the dock incessantly? If all you have to offer are reasonable good looks and youth, but nothing else but bad attitude, what man, especially one with money, is going to put up with you? I'm black, and I find it ridiculous that young black men and women who get the opportunity for a better economic lifestyle p!ss it away on material items, sex, drugs and other nonsense due to ignorance and inflated egos. What a waste!

Black people as a whole need/should start thinking ahead and planning for the future...its what's missing in our community!! Some have got it figured it out but there are those that are caught up in material wealth...all the money spent on material items like Jordans, Luis VItton/Hermes bags/22 inch rims/2 gold chains etc. could be flipped into a roth ira/low risk mutual fund for the future (bc SS will not be here in the future, its imperative that you plan ahead) or attend a session with Dave Ramsey... Sorry your comment struck a cord w/ me and I had to post!
