Supreme whistler Andrew Bird released a music video for "Danse Caribe" off his upcoming album "Break It Yourself." Recorded for Pitchfork.tv, the track and video are beautifully stripped, folk experiences.
The video is full of sweeping shots of the golden Minneapolis landscape; farmlands and partially frozen rivers mesh well with the fiddle-heavy sounds of the track. It wouldn't be an Andrew Bird song without a little bending of the musical limits. He plucks his fiddle, then uses an amp and some kind of distortion pedal to create a controlled shrill effect.
The result is a little experimental folk and all Andrew Bird.
