How To Take An A-Line Skirt From Day To Night (PHOTOS)

With retro classics making a comeback this season, there's lots of reasons to swap out the skinnies and minis currently in your closet. It's time to skew your style towards demure, and get on board with longer hemlines and looser cuts. Case in point: the A-line skirt. It's a timeless piece of clothing with an accentuating, architectural shape. During the day, wear it with an embellished or colorful tee tucked in to keep your waist looking slim. Add a feminine handbag and slender heel to compliment the skirt's sleek fit. During the evening, try a silk blouse with an interesting collar, tucked in again to flatter your figure. To finish off the ensemble, match a pair of platform sandals with a bold clutch for a finished look that's á la mode.

Getting dressed for day can be as easy as one, two, three, but when you have to quickly go from dressed down to dressed up, the equation gets a little trickier. When it comes to day-to-night dressing, simple additions will help you do the math.
