With Super Tuesday right around the corner, political junkies are more focused than ever on the latest polls on the Republican nomination battle and the general election. We already are seeing dozens of pre-election polls every week using a variety of methodologies, and the flood of survey data will only increase.
Which polls can we trust? What does the survey data say about who has the upper hand in the Republican race and about President Barack Obama's chances to win reelection in November?
Mark Blumenthal, the senior polling editor at the Huffington Post, helps us sort through all of these polls. Blumenthal has worked in the political polling business for more than 20 years, conducting and analyzing political polls and focus groups for Democratic candidates and market research surveys for major corporations. He also co-founded Pollster.com, a polling website acquired by the Huffington Post in July 2010, and served as a polling analyst at the National Journal.
