'Higher Income People Don't Have To Pay Taxes If They Don't Want To'

MIAMISBURG, Ohio -- Rick Santorum said on Monday that the British government's move to raise taxes on its top earners demonstrated why President Obama's plan to increase taxes for those making more than $250,000 a year is a bad idea.

"It failed. They didn't get a lot of revenue," Santorum said of the British government. "What happened? Well higher income people don't have to pay taxes if they don't want to, because they can move their money somewhere else, they can move their investments."

"They can stop investing. They can stop working. They don't need to work. They're higher income people," Santorum said.
